What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, comes from the cannabis plant.

Cannabis plants are made up of over 100 different cannabinoids, and CBD is the second most common of these.

The chemical formula for CBD is C21H30O2

what is CBD image

The simple answer is Yes.

While most of the cannabidiols are classified as controlled substances, and therefore in most countries illegal, CBD isn’t because it doesn’t have the properties that allow users to get “high”.

Each country, and in some counties each region of the country, have their own laws governing CBD, but in most cases, if the level of the another and most common cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is very low, and this component can’t be easily separated from the CBD based product, then it’s legal.

It’s this THC that is the psychoactive cannabinoid and allows users to get “high”.

In the USA a THC level of less than 0.3% is allowed in CBD products whereas in the UK a maximum level of 0.2% is allowed.

It’s worth noting however that some research suggests that CBD often works better when combined with THC.

Products that use CBD

As the market size increases so do the number of CBD based products, but these are the main CBD products being sold:

  • CBD Oil
  • CBD Capsules
  • CBD Topicals / Cream / Lotion / Balm
  • CBD Vaporizers / Vape Oil / Vape Pens
  • CBD Infused Water
  • CBD Infused Coffee
  • CBD Edibles / Gummies
  • CBD Brownies / Cakes
  • CBD Bath Bombs / Bath Oil
hand holding types of CBD

Is CBD Oil the same as Cannabis Oil?

No CBD oil and Cannabis oil are not the same.

Cannabis oil has a higher THC content than CBD oil.

There is also confusion as Cannabis oil has been in the media because of its positive effects on people with epilepsy, but in this form, it’s not usually allowed without medical supervision.

Is CBD Dangerous?

In small amounts and for most people CBD is not dangerous.

Typical reported CDB side effects include fatigue, decreased appetite, and diarrhea.

However as CBD is relatively new and not yet fully studied, long-term effects have not been defined and some research suggests that even though it can help some forms of cancer, it may also worsen others like colon cancer.

What is noted so far however is that CBD appears to be significantly safer than many treatments used for pain relief.

The World Health Organization also stated in a review of CBD that to date there’s no evidence of any “public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD”.

How does CBD Work?

The way CBD works isn’t yet fully understood, but science shows it doesn’t work in the same way that THC works, which is on what’s called the cannabinoid CB1 and CB2 receptors, which are located throughout the brain and body and only described in scientific terms in 1992.

CB1 receptors are typically found in the nervous system and affect things like concentration and appetite.

CB2 receptors are part of the immune system and so help regulate pain and immune responses.

But even though science hasn’t fully explained how CBD works, it does give us an indication, so this is what we know:

First, we need to understand how our bodies work.

The human body is an amazing thing and it can be separated into different Systems like the Immune System, Central Nervous System and Endocrine (Hormone) System, just to name a few.

These systems work on the concept of homeostasis or balance. A good example would be in the Immune System where balance is found between Inflammation and Anti-Inflammation.

Inflammation is one of the biggest causes of illness and dis-ease. Our immune system regulates this balance, as all other systems regulate their function too and without these systems in balance, we wouldn’t survive.

How Pharmaceuticals Usually Work.

Pharmaceuticals work because they address the symptoms of disease within the system.

Imagine the immune system again and think of it a bit like a set of old fashioned scales with an arm on either side which holds a weight – if the arms are the same length and the same weight is on each side the scale’s balanced.

But what if one side of the scale is heavier than the other? It’s not balanced and this situation in our body, for example when the immune system is inflamed, throws the body out of balance too. The body, when working correctly is balanced, so naturally works hard to return to this state.

Pharmaceutical drugs work by addressing the symptom, clamping down on it and essentially trying to synthetically counterbalance the scale.

The problem is that our bodies are far more complex than a simple set of scales with two equal length arms, they have to be balanced across many arms of many lengths.

It’s very difficult to balance the body as pharmaceuticals try to balance one thing and in the process, something else happens – in a simple visible form it’s why some people experience side effects to drugs. But some people don’t have these side effects because we are all unique and that’s another issue when using pharmaceuticals.

People then look to address any new problems or symptoms with another drug, and another, and another until the entire system is forced to balance unnaturally – this puts enormous strain on our physiology.

Sooner or later something has to give and this may even result in a cataclysmic failure and having to be rushed to the emergency room!

What Does This Have To Do With CBD?

CBD does not work on symptoms, it works on systems by blocking harmful compounds from entering receptors or helping beneficial compounds get into receptors.

It’s reported that CBD counterbalances the Homeostatic System, known as the Nexus of Balance.

Imagine rather than a simple scale, a baby or nursery child’s hanging mobile as it has multiple arms and weight at the end of each arm.

The Nexus of balance on this child’s mobile is the point at which a string that dangles meets the hanging points of the structure and in turn the hanging toys.

CBD, once ingested, binds to millions of receptors throughout all our systems, traveling into the nucleus of cells and the structures of our DNA, literally balancing out all of the off-kilter areas, creating homeostasis throughout the entire system.

This, in turn, creates an equilibrium that reduces the inflammation, or dis-ease affecting our body, eliminating the symptom.

Simply Put…

Pharmaceuticals synthetically target a specific symptom within a system, while CBD spreads through the entire system of our body.

CBD is like an anti-virus software that our human operating system was programmed to use. Once ingested the program runs automatically, unimpeded until the absolute balance of the affected system is achieved.

Supporters of CBD say that it finds the homeostatic balance between all the systems in our body simultaneously, a massive and infinitely complex task, but CBD does.

Naturally Produced CBD

There’s a system in our body called the Endocannabinoid System, and it makes up all the receptors throughout all the systems within the human body and it has one significant aspect that applies to CBD.

The Endocannabinoid System gives every human being the ability to create its own CBD.

Current research has shown that there are two ways CBD is self-production in humans.

The first is when a mother breast-feeds, which makes total sense when you observe the calm bond between mother and child.

The second way CBD is self-created is through deep meditation. Put simply, close your eyes, focus on your breathing and your Endocannabinoid System can do the rest.

How Much CBD Should I Take?

There is no specific scientific right or wrong answer to this question as the effects of CBD vary between different people and between batches and strengths of CBD products too.

What’s known is that CBD when taken orally, takes between 2.5 and 5 hours to reach maximum concentration levels in the bloodstream.

It’s also been shown that CBD has what’s termed a half-life (which is the time it takes for something to reduce to half the concentration level) of approximately 60 hours, so CBD stays in your system for several days.

The best advice on dosage is to check with an expert, read the guidance provided by the CBD supplier and take the minimum effective dose, increasing the amount steadily to work this out for your situation.

An based on the time CBD remains in your system, think about how this will affect you too because you may need to build it up to start with, but then change the dose to maintain that level.

CBD And What It’s Reported to Help

The following is a break down of some of the systems and diseases associated with those systems.

We’ll also briefly explain how CBD is said to relieve or eliminate these diseases and return the system to balance.

Neurological and Psychological

Diseases in this category relate to the nervous system, a balance is achieved between GABA inhibition and Glutamate Excitation. This means the balance between the excitement of the neurons and inhibition, or decreasing excitement, of the neurons.

There is dis-ease associated with both ends of the spectrum and CBD does not discriminate which way it finds homeostasis, it’s primary objective is to find balance. Neurological and psychological concerns are triggered by inflammation in the nervous system and this can occur in the brain and nerves throughout the body

Anxiety, stress, panic attacks and obsessive-compulsive disorder

Anxiety, Stress, and panic attacks are in the category of excitation. Overstimulated neurons cause a person to suffer racing thoughts, fear and an overcharged sensation within the brain and body. Research has found that CBD is a natural anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) that connects to the CB1 and CB2 receptors producing homeostasis between GABA and Glutamate levels.

The anxiolytic in CBD increases prefrontal cortex activation and reduces activity in the amygdala. Also, CBD can activate hippocampus neurogenesis, which is the regeneration of neurons and cells within the body and brain.

CBD calms the distress response of the sufferer’s neurological system, thus freeing them from the constant focus on a pathological feeling of being rushed and the fear of a potentially negative outcome.

CBD does not cause the side effects that pharmaceutical anti-anxiety medication produces, including, but not limited to, dizziness, fatigue, restlessness, and erectile dysfunction.

Depression, PTSD, Mood Disorders, Bipolar, and Brain Fog

Antidepressant medication has been used not only for depression but Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and some mood disorders, including Bipolar Disorder. These ailments are debilitating in either their dark mood and feeling of hopelessness or the feelings of mania and overstimulation. In the case of Bipolar, it is vacillating between the two extremes. A very distressing disposition.

Pharmaceutical intervention stimulates the serotonin receptor. In a nutshell, the brain releases serotonin, otherwise known as the happy molecule and gives us an uplifted mood. Serotonin sits in the brain before it is re-absorbed into the brain in a process called serotonin re-uptake.

Anti-depressants are a reuptake inhibitor, literally forcing the brain to hold onto the serotonin longer than it should. This is an unnatural process and can lead to heavy side effects and dependence on medication and an increase in the dosage to stabilize the mood.

CBD circumnavigates this process by entering the CB1 and CB2 receptors, and not the serotonin receptor. CBD accesses the nervous system, thus calming the excitement of mania or lifting the cloud of depression, thus balancing and stabilizing the mood. There is no brain or emotional numbing reported by those on anti-depressant medication. A wonderful alternative to chemical dependency.

Sleep Disorders, Insomnia and Narcolepsy

Whether it’s an inability to sleep or falling asleep at the drop of a hat, CBD has been proven to be beneficial in alleviating both ends of the spectrum. In particular with Insomnia, CBD relaxes the racing thoughts of the sufferer to the point of not only sleep but also deep R.E.M (Rapid Eye Movement) Sleep.

Deep R.E.M sleep refreshes the brain and body and resets circadian rhythms (Internal Body Clock). The other benefit is the reduced daytime sleepiness and brain fog. The benefits of CBD for insomnia, over drugs like Valium or Temazapan, are evident. CBD doesn’t knock you out, it slowly and calmly eases you to sleep, and that’s where CBD can work its magic.

Inversely, and it has to be said, amazingly, CBD does the complete opposite for those suffering Narcolepsy, for them it actually stimulates their neurology, thus keeping them awake when they would otherwise drop asleep at a whim, making it impossible for them to drive and for the heavily afflicted, lead a normal life. CBD has a massive benefit as a replacement for stimulants, which can lead to insomnia, irritability, restlessness, and dependence. CBD in non-addictive, so the benefits are unquestionable.

happy young couple in bed in the morning

Also, CBD has been linked to the minimization and complete alleviation of Sleep Paralysis (Night Terrors), where a sufferer’s mind wakes while the body sleeps. The distress of paralysis causes an in-congruence of the awakened mind and unconscious body. The sufferer in absolute terror as there imagination tries to fill in the gap with very real visualizations of Demons, Aliens and other ghastly figures.

CBD balances the body and brain’s sleep patterns for deep, uninterrupted sleep. If you’d like to know about other sleep biohacks you’ll find a whole article about it here.

Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy, Huntington’s

All of the above diseases are associated with cell degeneration caused by inflammation in the brain and neural pathways. Alzheimer’s deals with an inability of the immune system to clear blockages, Vascular Dementia is restricted blood flow to the brain, Parkinson’s a depletion of dopamine, Huntington’s is abnormal brain cell death, and Epilepsy abnormal brain function. All are debilitating and exceptionally distressing for anyone suffering from these diseases.

CBD is astonishing in the fact that by targeting the Neurological System, and indeed all systems in the body, that it can stagnate, reverse, alleviate and regenerate simultaneously. Cannabidiol can activate hippocampus neurogenesis which is brand new neuron and cell growth, this stagnates Huntington’s Disease, for example, as the new growth can match cell death, thus alleviating suffering.

CBD balances the misfiring of neurons in an Epileptic, thus minimizing seizures and providing a quality of life unsurpassed by pharmaceutical intervention. CBD increases Dopamine production in Parkinson’s Disease patients, thus reducing tremor activity and CBD reduces inflammation and clears blockages in Alzheimer’s, in addition to new brain cell growth, holding onto the memories that are and in some cases returning the pathways to memories that once were.

Alcoholism, Drug Addiction & Withdrawal

The world is awash with drugs, whether they legalized and readily available like Nicotine, Caffeine, and Alcohol, the Pharmaceutical Xanax, Oxycontin or Morphine or the Class A’s – Heroin, Cocaine, and Methamphetamine. The list is endless and the impact immense.

Addicts come in all shapes, sizes, and persuasions. Whether it’s a barbiturate, stimulant or opiate there is someone, somewhere abusing it and addicted to it. The cost to our health industry is gargantuan and it appears the only way to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal is with yet another drug, and the cycle continues.

Unless, of course, we consider CBD. As we have already covered the Neurological and Psychological diseases previously, and all the following ailments to come in this article, addiction triggers disease in the sufferer. So, whether it’s the anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), the analgesic (pain relief) and the myriad of other positive effects CBD has on the systems within our body, the monumental impact that CBD can have on the addicted and withdrawing is evident and obvious.

Also, CBD is non-addictive, non-habit forming and will cause zero harm to a person detoxifying from Narcotics/ Alcohol or Nicotine; In fact, it will only provide relief on their road to recovery. The possibilities and applications of CBD in the treatment of degenerative Neurological and Psychological ailments are mind-bending.

Dermatological and Skin conditions

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and is called The Integumentary System, and just like all systems, there are Cannabinoidal receptors that CBD attaches to and can have a dramatic effect in treating any ailments associated with the skin.

Most skin irritations are caused by inflammation and whether it is internal, like the brain or external like the skin CBD is just as effective. Once CBD permeates through the top layer of skin or Epidermis, into the Dermis and Hypodermis, it can attach to the receptors and work its magic.

The best conduits for the absorption of CBD into the skin is a surprise, surprise, anything commonly used as a moisturizer, such as Vitamin-E and Sorbolene cream. Essential oils, natural aromas, and other tinctures can be added and, as CBD is non-volatile and won’t react with other compounds, it is safe to use as a topical lotion with confidence.

Whether it’s minor skin irritation, a bug bite or sunburn, to severe conditions like Eczema, Psoriasis, and Vitiligo, CBD can reduce inflammation, alleviate pain and balance an overactive Integumentary System.

CBD has even been proven effective on warts, cysts, and other skin growths and infections, Also, it’s a calming effect due to the natural anxiolytic, the stress associated with an unsightly skin condition is alleviated simultaneously.

This potential extends to skin cancers and melanoma and CBD can be effectual in the prevention and the cessation of skin cancer growth.

Hair and Hair Loss

While CBD may not be effective in genetic hair loss or male pattern baldness once the hair has been lost, due to its high concentration of fatty acids and Omega 3, 6 and 9, CBD prevents moisture loss and keeps hair healthy and hydrated. Additionally, an amino acid in CBD called Tyrosine is effective in the retention and maintenance of natural hair color.

Keratosis Pilaris is a skin condition affecting the hair follicle, inflaming the skin in and around the follicle, leaving rough patches and unsightly bumps over the surrounding skin. Due to CBD’s anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, the ailment can be soothed and greatly improved.

Skin Care

Cannabidiol is very effective in the maintenance and hydration of healthy skin. CBD is a natural antioxidant, full of Omega 3,6 and 9 and essential fatty acids. So, it makes sense that if it nourishes your hair, it will nourish your skin, and due to its regenerative powers, the likely hood that the aging process could be slowed is a reasonable hypothesis. That said, further testing needs to be done, but I’m sure we will see results shortly.

Bones, Muscles, and Joints

When people ask what can CBD help , the first thing is related to pain relief and that’s obviously related to bones, musles and joints, but there’s more to it. The Skeletal System comprises all of our bones and works in conjunction with our Muscular System, which comprises all connective tissues between the bones, like tendons, cartilage, and muscle. All of these connective tissues are susceptible to inflammation, which can cause joint pain, herniated discs, ruptured tendons and the like.

If inflammation is present in the spine, for example, the pressure caused can affect the Nervous System by pinching a nerve. In most cases, multiple therapies are required to gain relief, including pain and inflammation management, chiropractic therapy and the possibility of surgery. The introduction of CBD into these systems can improve the chances of recovery and avoiding evasive surgery.

CBD has been proven to increase bone density and increase recovery time from fractures and breaks, actually making them stronger after healing. The application in the area of osteoporosis and other degenerative bone diseases and cancers like Leukaemia is unfathomable, yet the research and proven benefits already achieved give hope for the future.

The effective use of CBD in reducing inflammation in the joints produces profound improvement in arthritis and recovery from hip and knee replacements. Additionally, CBD’s regenerative properties may reduce the wear of the cartilage and be instrumental in managing conditions of joint, cartilage and spinal disc degeneration. This also extends to Sciatica, sciatic nerve conditions and other nerve-related ailments.

Muscle Recovery

As well as assisting in the recovery from muscle complaints and accidental injury like muscle tears, CBD is proving effective in muscle recovery after weight training, sport, and extreme activity. The application in the bodybuilding and weight training industry is immense as CBD is a safe alternative to Anabolic Steroids, Stanozolol and growth hormones that have serious side effects and negative health implications.

There are also other biohacks to do with recovery and we’ve got complete articles on these too, for example, there’sone on compression gear and another about supplements too.

Major Physical Ailments

This section could be an article all of its own, this area is so complex and involved and the benefits of CBD oil and other delivery systems are astronomical. There’s a huge amount of research, clinical trials and terminally ill patients trialing their own effective remedies at home. It is only a matter of time before more conclusive information is available.

Cancer

When people ask what can CBD help, cancer is one of the areas they’re interested in, so here’s the siple answer.  What has been proven is that CBD can be beneficial in recovery from chemotherapy and other cancer treatments; including appetite stimulation, nausea reduction, and pain relief, and for anyone with cancer that is a massive benefit.

Research is looking very promising in the areas of reduced tumor growth and minimization of the chance of the return of tumors and cancers once in remission. It has been observed that CBD has caused cessation of cancer cell growth in some tumors and absolute cancer cell death in others.

Research has also shown that Cannabis consumption can minimize the risk of some cancers, including a 45% reduced risk in Bladder Cancer. Although, as cannabis is usually combusted and inhaled into the lungs, there is a greater risk of lung cancer, yet not nearly as high as Tobacco smokers due to the number of carcinogenic chemicals ingested.

What is interesting is that CBD’s cancer-fighting properties, in particular, breast cancer, are enhanced when combined with THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis, as Publish in a British Medical Journal. This is fascinating and seems to be a factor across many illnesses.

Again, further research is being conducted. What this means is the medical properties of THC should not be negated or demonized just because there is a psychoactive effect and deemed illegal in many countries. The medical benefits are clear.

Lupus

Lupus is an autoimmune disease. These diseases are characterized by the body believing healthy cells to be a threat and attacking itself. Major symptoms are joint pain, fever, rash, loss of appetite and Photo (light) sensitivity. Although research is limited, what is proven is that CBD can have a positive effect on multiple body system functions simultaneously.

As Lupus is a multi-faceted disease, the benefits of CBD could be massive as the complications with a multi-pharmaceutical approach, and negative drug combination reactions could be avoided. That said whether CBD can eliminate the cause of an autoimmune disease is inconclusive.

What is conclusive is the positive effect of CBD on anxiety and depression management caused by the disease and that is a massive step forward.

Lyme disease

Lyme Disease is a very odd condition that eventuates after a tick bite. Initial symptoms are rashes, aches, and pain, chills, and nausea. Left untreated the condition can exacerbate into severe joint pain and eventual meningitis and recovery can be a very long road indeed, and treatment can be difficult, if not ineffectual.

That said if we apply all that we know from this article it would appear obvious that we don’t attack the symptoms, we support the systems. CBD treatment could alleviate the inflammation, pain, nausea and skin irritation. Although, at this stage, research suggests that if CBD treatment is applied to Lyme disease, it is in combination with a course of antibiotics.

HIV and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome)

Differing from an autoimmune disease where the body attacks itself, HIV and AIDS is an acquired disease, usually from the transmission of infected fluids from one human to another. The result is a virus that is forever morphing and adapting, making it exceptionally difficult to treat and leaving the infected incredibly susceptible to infections and complications.

HIV/ AIDS is characterized by a weakened immune system inhibited in achieving homeostasis, the balance required for full health and function. As we have discussed, CBD’s primary function is to align systems into homeostasis and balance.

Although, that sounds like a ready-made cure, unfortunately not, and research is inconclusive, yet the relief and quality of life that CBD can offer an HIV/AIDS patient, combined with current medication, is far more comfortable than in previous years, providing a quality of life never thought achievable.

Cardiovascular Disease

When people ask what can CBD help they don’t immediately think of this, but it can. The Cardiovascular System/ Circulatory System, also known as the Vascular System, comprises the heart, veins, arteries capillaries and blood. This system circulates blood, transporting nutrients, amino acids, electrolytes, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and hormones.

This system also eliminates waste and is essential to life. Any disease associated with this system can be catastrophic and is one of the leading causes of death worldwide

Diseases in this system include high blood pressure, narrowing of the arteries, arrhythmia, diabetes, and obesity. Myocarditis is the inflammation of the heart tissue; CBD has proven to be demonstrative in the reduction of inflammation and regeneration of tissues.

Also, CBD increases blood flow to the heart and has a cardio-protective quality, and means exactly as it sounds, CBD is good for the heart and exhibits properties of anti-arrhythmia, which means it keeps a consistent heartbeat and rectifies irregular heartbeat.

Diabetes is yet another auto-immune disease and research at this stage doesn’t suggest that CBD can cure diabetes, yet it is reported that CBD may be able to minimize and decrease the incidence of diabetes through an immunomodulatory mechanism. CBD is effective in regulating hormone production in the pancreas, thus effective in adjusting the imbalanced systems that cause diabetes.

Respiratory System

Comprising the Mouth, Nose, Pharynx, Larynx, Bronchi and the Lungs, The Respiratory System is essential in moving oxygen into the body and carbon dioxide out. Most diseases associated with this system like asthma, cystic fibrosis and emphysema are inflammatory and CBD is effective in providing relief especially in asthma.

Cystic Fibrosis is genetic and degenerative, CBD can provide relief but the disease is so aggressive and a cure is far from sight. The most import thing is quality of life, and if CBD can reduce the pain and suffering in any way, then that is a highly prized commodity

Additionally, CBD is effective in the treatment of nasal polyps, nodules, tonsillitis and many other inflammatory diseases of the airway tract.

Gastrointestinal disease

Now, this is a really interesting one. Research states that cannabis in many forms has been used for centuries to treat gastrointestinal disease and is instrumental in a healthy gut. This is exceptionally encouraging for those suffering digestive issues; including gut permeability or leaky gut, ulceration, irritable bowel syndrome and celiac disease.

The common cause of most gut health issues is inflammation and has previously proven, CBD is the master of anti-inflammation. So, when combined with a healthy diet the recovery and treatment of gastrointestinal disease are exceptionally promising if not tentatively guaranteed.

Hormonal Abnormalities

The Endocrine System regulates the balance of hormones in the body; the disease can arise when the production of certain hormones is over-active or under-active. CBD has the potential to balance hormone production and reduce the possibility of an overactive thyroid, acne, resilience to stress and anxiety.

CBD can regulate hormone production in the brain including the Hypothalamus, Pituitary and Pineal gland. Also, The Thymus, Pancreas and Adrenal glands all respond exceptionally well to CBD treatment. The Hormones released from these glands are signaling molecules and work in harmony with the circulatory to transport these messages around the body via the blood.

Reproductive Systems

Relying heavily on the Endocrine System, the female reproductive system is exceptionally delicate. The most important facet for healthy egg and sperm is minimizing stress hormones and anxiety. We know CBD has this covered.

Other issues arising in the reproductive system include polycystic ovaries and endometriosis, both exceptionally painful and inflamed conditions. As discussed, CBD can alleviate both these symptoms, yet most importantly CBD has the potential to minimize tumor growth, regenerate damaged cells and improve healing and recovery.

CBD has even been proven effective in the treatment of Herpes Simplex Virus, speeding up recovery time, calming pain and inflammation and minimizing the potential for future outbreaks. Human Papilloma Virus (HPV/Warts) has also responded well to CBD treatment in reducing the severity of outbreaks and returning the virus to its dormant phase.

Period Pain, Pre-menstrual tension and Menopause have all show very positive signs of improvement and alleviation of symptoms with CBD treatment, including pain reduction, hormone balance and decreased stress and anxiety.

CBD has proven exceptionally effective in both male and female reproductive health, minimizing the possibility of testicular, prostate and cervical cancer and providing relief once diagnosed and treated.

Conclusion

CBD’s use as a medical substance is relatively new and there are 100s of medical and scientific trials underway now, but reports of how it has helped people are readily available.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is potentially an exceptionally powerful substance. The health benefits are seemingly astounding and the way CBD works on balancing our body’s delicate systems, like the Endocrine, Digestive, Respiratory, and Immune systems (just name a few) is medically fascinating.

What’s also fascinating is that our bodies are designed to receive cannabinoids through very specific receptors.

This article can only scratch the surface of the benefits of the medicinal properties of CBD. But new research is being done continually, consistently so every day another breakthrough is made and more pieces of the puzzle are found.

So maybe CBD will be the medical miracle it potentially seems to be, and with this will be comprehensive scientific backing, as well as personal success stories.
